A Balbirnie House Wedding

BALBIRNIE HOUSE - MARKINCH // APR 2024

Balbirnie House in Fife, Scotland, has a rich history from the 18th century. This beautiful country house is known for its fancy rooms, lovely setting, and top-notch service. The impressive design gives it a classy feel, making it great for weddings. The well-kept gardens and plush insides offer a peaceful escape for guests who love elegant Scottish hospitality. Today it rolled out the red carpet for Kerry & Stuart and their guests. I joined Kerry and her bridesmaids as they got ready in the bridal suite.

In my opinion Balbirnie has one of the best suites to get ready in. Lots of space, lightly decorated, lots of light coming through the windows - perfect for your photos. I headed down to the ceremony room for a few photos of the decor. Kerry & Stuart went for elegant white florals and greens - a beautiful arch at the bottom of the aisle, just gorgeous!

Adding to the elegant vibe - Stuart met me downstairs with his groomsman in black suits and ties! Its such a change from kilts and really fitted in with the theme of the building. They all looked handsome!

The girls gathered for some cute pyjama photos on the bed before it was time for a quick change!

Kerry slipped into this stunning gown from Eleganza Sposa. It was a perfect style for her and I loved the slit up the side AND it had pockets! win win!

Kerry took a moment to read a note from Stuart before her Dad came to collect her and walk her down the aisle.

Stuart waited excitedly to see Kerry walk down the aisle. They had a beautiful humanist ceremony performed by Martin Turner full of stories of how they met and lots of funny moments we got to hear about. A humanist wedding is one of my favourite types of ceremonies - very personal.

After the ceremony we lined all the guests up to throw confetti - it was magical! As always, I love a confetti shot. As guests headed inside for drinks I kept the bridal party outside for photos in front of the gorgeous building.

We then wondered round the gardens - it was one of those moody Scottish days so we wanted to make the use of the outdoor space just incase it rained at any moment.

I got some gorgeous detail shots before the guests sat for dinner and took Kerry & Stuart to the secret staircase.

Kerry & Stuart danced their way into the room for dinner but first speeches!

Low and behold after dinner it did rain so we got a few shots inside using some of the gorgeous rooms in Balbirnie and also using Kerrys cute denim jacket that she made for the wedding.

The official last job as husband and wife was to cut the cake and kick the evening festivities off with a first dance.

Everyone piled onto the dance floor to dance the night away! Kerry also had a lovely dance with her Dad. The whole day was absolutely fabulous and I loved being a part of it! Thanks so much for having me guys - a beautiful Balbirnie House Wedding.
