Mount Stuart House Weddings

Mount Stuart House, Isle of Bute

You may or may not of heard of this stunning Gothic House on the Isle of Bute in the West Coast of Scotland. Just an hour and 30 minutes away from Glasgow, people have their wedding here to get away from it all. The House is situated on a quiet part of the island near the beach with acres of well maintained woodland and gardens, its ideal for a wedding. I haven’t even spoke about the house itself yet!

There are several bedrooms in which you can stay in on the eve of your wedding. The main one being the Horoscope room, a grand bedroom with detailed horoscope ceiling, attached to a beautiful roof conservatory. Whilst you are getting ready there, the billiard room is ideal for the boys to have a quick game of snooker.

The Marble Chapel is one of the main reasons people get married here. Built entirely with marble on the inside, stained glass windows and a tall spire, it is a gorgeous setting to say your vows.

The main hall, the drawing room, the marble staircase and the main entrance are all ideal for photo opportunities, especially if its raining! The house has so many places that are jaw droppingly beautiful it is hard to get a bad photograph anywhere.

Use the vast amounts of Gardens, beaches, woodland to capture your day from the outside! Whilst your getting photos done, Mount Stuart can organise a small tour of the rooms for your guests.

Dinner can be served in the main hall if you have a big wedding or for more intimate weddings you can use the formal dining room.

In the evening you can go outside and hopefully capture the golden hour light as the sunsets or if you want to really impress your guests you can organise a firework display!

The reason that I photograph here often is that I was born on Bute and my family still live there. I have been to Mount Stuart many times so I know a lot of the areas and grounds which are ideal for photos. The more you photograph in the house, the more you learn about the light and the best spots for capturing your wedding. I have photographed several different rooms in the house but know which ones work best! Im glad that I have been able to show you around this stunning house. For more information on it or to enquire for your wedding please go to Mount Stuart House.
